More Frankfurt news

Sorry for the silence... Last week has been a busy week with unpacking boxes and settling in. We are currently in Holland to pick up our son and we will be on the 'Deutsche autobahn' soon with the three of us. Unfortunately it will take 4(!) weeks to have internet connection ...I still can not believe that German Telecom can afford to take this long to arrange these vital things. I will try to post every now and then from an internet cafe, so please keep coming and before you know I am back full time!

Ready for Frankfurt?!

It is a bit chaotic here. Too much traveling, packing and to make it worse we have a stomach flu... Within an hour from now we will be driving to Frankfurt (fortunately our son will stay this week with his grand-parents) which will take around 5-6 hours. Tomorrow my husband will start his first day in the office and I will be busy with the delivery of our goods and unpacking tons of boxes. As soon as we have internet up and running, I will be back. See you soon!

Gewoon is not just ordinary

Today when I was in a modern furniture store, I saw a few products by Gewoon. I like their simple style and the use of felt in many products. Most of their collection is for home decoration but they have a few cuddly friends for little ones as well. Gewoon (translates to 'ordinary'or 'everyday') remains a bit of a mystery, except that they are located in Amsterdam and they currently just sell in the Netherlands.

Freckles from Australia

Freckles offers a great collection of homewares for kids. They offer a wide variety of themes in different color settings. Of course the nautical theme is my favorite and I would love to have a few items of this range. Unfortunately I could not find a lot of information about this company on the website, besides that Freckles comes from Australia and sells in North America, UK, Australia and New Zealand. For all visitors from Australia: they currently have 40%-70% sale on some items...

More Esthex decorations

In my previous post about Esthex I wrote about all dolls who are all traveling the world. Now you will find more nursery accessories and the characters can be found on many items. Kee-Ka babytalk?

Kee-Ka from Brooklyn began as a handmade greeting card company. They decided to print their designs on t-shirts which was an enormous success in New York City. Now they offer a full range t-shirts, onesies, pants, bibs and bath towels. All Kee-Ka clothes are packaged in little brown boxes that are self-sealable and ready to mail. Normally I am not too keen on clothes with text, but texts like 'this side up' and 'handle with care' make me laugh. You can order online or find a retailer in one of the 13 countries they sell.

Rice from Denmark

When I was pregnant more than 2 years ago, I bought a very nice melamine children's dinner set. Recently I had a look underneath and saw it was labeled Rice. When browsing their website, I was amazed by the great collection they have for both grown-ups and kids. In the Rice kids' selection you will find a wide assortment from bedding, wall decorations to photo frames and storage boxes. Rice was founded late 1998 by a French-Danish couple. After living for 15 years in Paris, they felt the need to slow down. Now 9 years later they have their headoffice in Denmark in an old shipyard building and they sell across Europe. It has been a bit difficult to post lately due to traveling. This week I stay on Ameland, one of the Dutch islands in the North Sea, where we are together with my husbands' family.
