Ozo Bone

I also found these unique kids' chairs at Kidsfactory. Ozo Bone is multi functional chair for children in the age of 3-7 years. The Dutch designer, Eric  Wijffelaars, studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. He designed the chair in such a way that it can be used from all sides. Because the Ozo Bone is super light, children can carry it around themselves! Retail locations can be found on the website. For locations outside Holland, send Atelier Ozo an email.

JETsit XL

Today was a public holiday in Germany and we just came back from dinner with friends in a German 'bierstube' where we enjoyed a typical German meal. Potatoes, sauerkraut and all kinds of meat...We even had 'apfelstrudel' for desert, so after this post I can only think of lying on the couch...

I posted about JET4Kids before. Now they have a new edition: a high chair in the same colorful and flexible format. The JETsit XL can be easily transformed from baby seat into a toddler seat. Of course also this chair can be personalized with a photo or picture.

These handmade cushions are imported from Colombia.  It is also possible to buy a table which can be easily attached to the high chair. You can buy the JETsit XL at this Dutch webshop.

HiLo kids chair

New from Montreal is this kids chair from Age Design. I am normally not posting about day-to-day kids furniture but I found the HiLo chair a fascinating design and a great addition to the current high chair market. The HiLo Chair has been designed by industrial design husband and wife team who have taken the expectations of today's modern parents into account. The most unique feature I find is the possibility to switch from high chair to under-table kids chair, so the HiLo chair can be used for a long timespan. Th only thing which would make me hesitate to buy is the price (425 CAN$)... The HiLo chair is introduced into the Canadian market this month and you can buy it at Modern Kid from Vancouver. I hope Age Design will add new products to their range and will let us know if and when they will start selling outside Canada.

Momoll from Switzerland

Via Apartment Therapy: the nursery I came across Momoll, a new company from Switzerland which creates  modern wooden toys and furniture. All products are designed, developed and produced by hand in Switzerland.

Their products are adapted to today's mobile and active way of life: they are assembled or dismounted within minutes, so easy to take along or put aside for the next child or generation.You can purchase online or check out a local retailer in Switzerland, Holland, USA or Canada.

Bopita: for kids only

While surfing the web, I came across Bopita. I have never heard about this Dutch company although it is in business for almost 20 years and sells across the world. They offer contemporary furniture for nurseries until teen rooms. Every piece is made of quality wood and you will find many color options. As you might know, Dutch people love to have a wooden playpen in their living room (unlike many other people) and Bopita offers a wide variety. You will find the complete Bopita furniture collection on the website  as well as all international retailers.

Smart and playful furniture

The name suggests that P’kolino is an Italian company. It is however a US company which was founded by 2 men in 2005. I fully agree with their philosophy that children are not min-adults and therefore need a different type of furniture which also grows with them and has multiple uses. P’kolino did for sure achieve this with everything they have created. Have a look at this play table; talking about multiple uses and beautiful design.

And how brilliant is the P’kolino Klick... It is so simple, a desk and chair perfectly fitting, and therefore so smart! It comes with a storagebox which fits inside the chair.

You have to throw in some money to buy P’kolino furniture, but it guarantees you of years of fun for your little ones. You will find stores in the US and Canada on their website. I am not sure if they ship internationally.

Sit & Joy

I think my almost 2-year old son would really enjoy these playful seats by Sit&Joy. They come in different shapes and these bright colors. There is not much to tell about this Dutch company. The good news is that they sell in more than 15 countries. Have a look at their website to find a store close to you. Not (yet) present in  US, but hopefully somebody will soon discover these great seats. The price can not be the problem. I think it is a really good deal: €29.95 for the pink chair.

Children's furniture new style

Unique children's furniture from Holland: Jet4Kids. It was love at first sight when I saw the JETsit. You can assemble this chair in less than 1 minute, without any nails, screws or glue! Select the color combination you like, choose your seat height, add a photo and your personal JETsit is ready. Also available the JETsit4two and JETable. At this moment Jet4Kids is sold in children's stores in Netherlands and Belgium and a few Dutch online stores like Baby2kids. I am sure that this concept is going to be a hit and will soon be available in more countries.

DucDuc in your crib

I am glad I found DucDuc. I like the slick designs, the clean style and the use of bright colors. When my son moved out of his bassinet, I had a hard time finding basic though stylish crib bedding in Canada. I finally designed it myself and asked someone to make it for me. This DucDuc textiles collection is just amazing. It is not exactly a budget buy ($350 for a 4-piece crib set) but if you can afford it... You can order online or find a store (US / Canada) near you on their website.

PS. Do not forget to browse their website, their furniture is very distinctive and stands out from the crowd. This is a book, puzzle, and toy storage unit with built in seating...
