My 2-year old son has one ultimate favorite book and that is the Car and Truck book of Richard Scarry. He can look at the different cars, fire trucks, tractors for hours and wants to know every little detail. The Best Word book is his second favorite. Richard Scarry is an American author and illustrator who published his first book (Best Word) in 1963 and published over 300 books since then. His books remain very popular around the workld although he passed away over 10 years ago. Amazon offers a wide selection of Richard Scarry's books which all get 4-5 stars by customer reviews!

When my oldest son (age 30) was little, Richard Scarry's "Book of Things that Go" was his favorite book. He would sit quietly examing each page. What a delight it is to see children of the next generation enjoying the same book.

My mom saved these books from when my brothers and I were young, and now they are among my childrens' favorites too. They are fantastic. I once saw Best Word book in Italian!
